It is our unwavering desire to teach the children of our community about fire prevention. Every year during Fire Prevention Week our Firefighter Team lead by John Hughes will make their rounds to Bedford area schools, grades K-5, promoting this year's NFPA Theme "Have 2 Ways Out".

We are proud to announce that Bedford Fire Department has entered into a partnership with NFPA-Sparky the Fire Dogs Wish List! This project brings Bedford businesses and individuals together with our department to fund life-saving educational materials. "Every year we see fire related injuries and deaths that might have been prevented with fire safety education, functioning smoke alarms or have practiced an escape plan," said Chief Jon Wagner-Bedford Fire Department. "Our first line of protection is educating the community."
Sparky's Wish List will allow us to work with Bedford community members to provide these critical educational resources.

Fire Prevention Week is October 7 - October 13 and the 2012 theme is HAVE 2 WAYS OUT.

We're excited to be heading into the schools soon and if you have any questions-Call John Hughes 275-4544 !
